The movie really doesn't have any idea where they're heading. Not that I mind much, but they should do individual movies instead. This last movie is probably the less serious of the three. It's about a college guy who's life is changed because of the ghost of a girl.
There aren't enough horror movies that have a female antagonist. Is it a bad thing ? Not really, but most of the horror movies pit a female protagonist against a male enemy, but the opposite is rather rare. The movie breaks the rule, but still opposes a man with a woman.
The atmosphere in this horror movie is more of that of a boring sitcom. All characters, the school personnel particularly, are the typical average characters you'd expect to find in all American schools. Most of the story takes place in the school. The teachers, the friends and foes of Alex die there in original ways (football turning into a screwdriver, battery acid, ice cream cone hits).
The last scene taking place in Hell is rather strange, but interesting. It lacks realism, but then again, so does the entire movie. The conclusion is dark, but I liked it very much.
