Another legend has been destroyed by the box office obsession. Jason has always been a big, simplistic and slow but he was unique. It seems that the unscrupulous authors (which, furthermore, have no experience on their resume) were inspired by Shocker, Fallen and The Hidden.
Just as in many cases, the previous fact doesn’t make this movie bad. The violence scenes are sensibly explicit, the actors are very credible and the action is constant.
For an obscure reason, Jason learns, after approximately thirteen years, that he has a sister and that she has just given birth to a child. Not only do we have to add this disaster to the new illogical theory that only a Voorhees can ressucitate a Voorhees, but we must also accept that only a Voorhees can send a Voorhees to hello.
The last time I checked, Jason had lots of trouble with these calculations. He still succeeds in chasing his family in a pool of blood, which is very creative by moments.
I loved the sequence that lasted around five minutes where Jason’s temporary body is beaten and where he flees to go and possess his sister’s body. Then, in an obvious rage, he jumps out of the basement to the ground floor for a last battle.
