The popular series starts to take form. Jason still doesn’t have his hockey mask but it him the young campers of “Camp Blood” have to face. Jason stumbles, runs, falls but tries as well as he can. The potato bag, the overalls and hunting shirt he uses as a disguise deliver a great blow to his credibility and we will have to wait for Friday the 13th Part 3: 3D for a net amelioration.
I remember two or three critics that were displeased with the fact that Jason attacked a handicapped person in a wheel chair while he was about to lose his virginity. It is supposedly a discriminatory act. In my opinion, it is what gives all its strength to the monsters of slasher movies: they do all but discriminate. Whether it be in alphabetic, chronological, ascending or descending order, they kill everything that moves (Other than children, unfortunately).
