"Paintings that predict death..."
A band named Night Gallery and some of their friends step into an old abandoned school to record an album.
Their presence quickly annoys the spirits within. Soon after, their displeasure can be felt, seen and even heard.
The sinister gallery of art that is discovered by the soon-to-be victims reveals their cruel destiny. One by one, they succumb to the uninevitable in a barbaric fashion.

To please small-budget horror movie fans, there seems to need either: a new concept, controversy or explicit violence. 13 Seconds can be classified under the third group. Blood flows profusely and in any way possible. Each and every murder is explicitly presented to us and we aren’t talking about your run-of-the-mill knifings here.
Still, this film doesn’t shine with quality. The actors are starting out so their facial expressions are rarely appropriate. This hurts the film’s credibility. The dialogue is short, illusory and often uselessly hostile. The constant to and fro of characters serves as a pretext for the numerous surprises in the film’s scenario but becomes annoying in the long run because of the lack of progression.
On a more positive note, this film aggregates tons of interesting clichés adapted to the environment. Furthermore, it adds its touch of exclusive terror here and there. The specters are petrifying, powerful and tireless. The make-up and effects are awesome and plausible.
The unexpected ending offered to us by 13 Seconds overturns our understanding of the scenario in a quite effective manner.
